Las Terrazas de Abama Suites operated by My Way Hotels has obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications for its Quality Management System and its Environmental Management System. This is the first time that the resort, located in the municipality of Guía de Isora on the island of Tenerife, has achieved this type of certification, although in 2022 it obtained the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certificate thanks to its contribution to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030.
The ISO 9001 standard recognises the work of the five-star Las Terrazas de Abama Suites hotel, which is focused on the end customer’s satisfaction as well as the standardisation, control and continuous improvement of the management procedures put in place at the hotel complex, all of which have earned it this quality certificate.
The ISO 14001 certificate, which endorses the resort's environmental management systems, confirms that the hotel has met the requirements for minimising the impact on the natural environment by identifying, prioritising, preventing and managing elements that could be harmful to the environment.
In the words of the director of Abama Hotels, Adrián Almirante, "these advances in sustainability are a direct consequence of the important work that our staff is doing in their respective areas and that has made it possible to obtain the quality and environmental management certificates, once again reaffirming our strong positioning in guest satisfaction on social media networks and growth in the number of repeat guests who have made Abama Resort Tenerife their home away from home".
In March of last year, Las Terraza de Abama Suites, thanks to its environmental protection efforts and firm commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals on the UN’s 2030 Agenda, was awarded the prestigious
Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certification. This award recognises the work done by the hotel to mitigate climate change and to integrate good practices that involve the entire staff under the umbrella of the Abama Green Team project, which aims to promote responsible and sustainable tourism as a way of involving and responding to an increasingly demanding clientele committed to the health of the planet.
