The five-star hotel, Las Terrazas de Abama Suites, recently had the privilege of welcoming Miss Grand España 2021, Alba Dunkerbeck, who was taking part in a photo shoot at our facilities for the Tenerife firm, Flor y Amor, specialised in natural cosmetics.
The daughter of Bjorn Dunkerbeck, forty-two times windsurfing world champion on the PWA international circuit, Alba is also an elite sportswoman and a national rhythmic gymnastics champion. She is currently studying international business and global marketing at the University of ESIC in Valencia and lives in the south of Gran Canaria with her family.
Flor y Amor chose Las Terrazas de Abama Suites for its campaign, understanding that the identity of the hotel managed by My Way Meaningful Hotels in Guía de Isora meshes very well with those of the brand created by Kathryn and Charles Atkins based on sustainability and respect for nature. Kathryn, an aromatherapist, and Charles, director of design and marketing, are faithful to their firm’s core principles based on a philosophy of responsible care for the environment and the planet and the love of plants.
Their product catalogue includes facial oils, body oils and soaps made from local ingredients and from plants and flowers sourced from all over the world that provide a multitude of skin care properties. The magic of these products comes directly from the formulas created by Kathryn in her artisan laboratory located in San Miguel de Abona. Through small-scale and exclusive production, they try to transmit and share their respect for nature, always using vegan, organic or wild ingredients, and creating effective and harmonious products for their customers.
Miss Grand España or Miss Grand Spain, the contest Dunkerbeck won in 2021, is a beauty pageant whose contestants go on to take part in the Miss Grand International and many other international beauty contests. The participants and winners give meaning and importance to this beauty pageant by promoting the pageant’s slogan of stopping war and violence as their main message.
