Abama Golf is a self-sufficient course committed to sustainability with practices unique in the Canary Islands. It uses 100% desalinated water, produces its own fertilisers from plant waste and uses efficient grass varieties that require less consumption.
The greenkeepers use natural extracts, such as aloe and nettle, and minimise the use of herbicides with alternative methods. This commitment has made Abama Golf the only course in the Canary Islands with EMAS eco-labelling, as well as ISO 14001 certification.
Abama Golf Curiosities
The route preserves an old traditional Canarian threshing floor, a remnant of the original estate and part of the islands' historical heritage.
