What is special about the maintenance of the Abama Golf course?
Unlike other courses, which use treated sewage water, Abama uses 100% desalinated water throughout the course and resort, because it has a water pre-treatment plant and a desalination plant. A cleaner and more sustainable process that allows Abama Golf to be self-sufficient in water.
Abama Golf is committed to the manufacture of its own fertilizers based on vegetable leftovers, from which the worm hummus necessary for fertilizers is made. It also invests in different grass varieties that need less water and are more efficient.
To help turf heal and prevent disease, greenkeepers use local and field plant extracts based on, for example, aloe and nettles. And to minimize the need for herbicides, they use vinegar.
