Abama Solidaria and OCLOVE collaborate with the Tenerife Association of Women with Breast Cancer

To celebrate World Breast Cancer Awareness Day on 19th October, the jewellery brand OCLOVE, in collaboration with Abama Solidaria, has designed a beautiful Atlantic Ocean-inspired bracelet, with all proceeds from sales going the Tenerife Association of Women with Breast Cancer (AMATE).
The aim is to help fund the Association’s work, which provides services to women suffering from breast cancer, the most common malignant tumour in the female population, by offering psychological support, physiotherapeutic care, aesthetic rehabilitation, physical therapy and legal advice, among other services.
"It is important for those affected to receive help from an association like ours, which is free of charge for women without resources, so that when they find themselves faced with a diagnosis like this, they have a compass to guide them, someone to accompany them and their families in the process", says the president of Ámate Tenerife, María del Carmen Bonfante.
According to Bonfante, initiatives such as this one by Abama Solidaria and OCLOVE are extremely important because grants and donations are not enough to cover the costs: “What we have seen is that we must take to the streets to collect money, be imaginative and also collaborate with private companies and sporting events, because our intention is to grow and expand to other smaller islands, so that women suffering from breast cancer on La Palma, El Hierro or La Gomera can enjoy the same Ámate benefits as women in Tenerife", she says.
To that end, artist Gabriela Hidalgo, founder of OCLOVE, has created a limited edition piece of jewellery to raise funds. The stainless steel bracelet is decorated with acrylic paint and resin, inspired by the image of Abama Beach in Guía de Isora, a pristine paradise that is one of Tenerife's best-kept secrets.
"The Abama Solidaria project means a lot to me because I feel a special connection to the Canary Islands, which is where my maternal roots are. I’m very excited to be able to participate in this initiative and to know that my work will make it possible for many who are fighting breast cancer and their families to receive help from Ámate, which is also a beautiful name that means take care of yourself," says the designer.
50% of the price of the bracelets, which retail for €35, will be donated to the Tenerife Association of Women with Breast Cancer.
