Sustainable tourism
environment
Managed by My Way Hotels & Resorts, Abama Hotels integrates sustainability into its approach to hospitality: caring for the environment is an essential part of every experience.
Abama Solidaria
Abama Solidaria promotes social and environmental projects in collaboration with the Guía de Isora Town Council and local organisations.
In 2021, it supported the activities of Ámate Tenerife in the fight against breast cancer, coordinated actions with food and blood banks, and promoted initiatives in favour of children, the elderly and marine conservation. Abama's Green Team also leads sustainability, recycling and beach clean-up programmes, reaffirming a lasting commitment to the community and the natural environment.
Green Team Abama
The Green Team Abama leads the resort's sustainability efforts, setting annual goals in each area to move towards more responsible and efficient management. This initiative also channels Abama's charitable work, allocating funds to social and environmental projects that the Guía de Isora Town Council considers a priority.
Abama Golf
Abama Golf stands out for its excellence and commitment to sustainability. It was the first course in Spain to obtain IAGTO quality certification and, in 2017, the first in Tenerife to receive the European Union's EMAS seal, which certifies exemplary environmental management. It also has ISO 14001 certification and the Biosphere Committed label, in recognition of its contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of the Paris Climate Summit.
Las Terrazas de Abama Suites
In 2022, Las Terrazas de Abama Suites obtained the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certificate, which recognises its environmental commitment and contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Gourmet Shop promotes responsible consumption with locally sourced organic products, produced locally and distributed using sustainable practices. The hotel collaborates with the Red Cross, Ámate Tenerife, the San Juan Association and local food banks, as well as participating in a bird conservation project with the Canary Islands Ornithological Society.

Scope of the integrated management system
In accordance with requirement 4.3 of the UNE-EN ISO 9001 and UNE-EN ISO 14001 standards, Las Terrazas de Abama Suites defines the scope and boundaries of its Integrated Management System (IMS). The IMS covers all activities, products and infrastructure associated with the resort, including the Social Club, the 14 apartment blocks and complementary facilities. Requirement 8.3, "Design and development of products and services", is excluded as no activities of this type are carried out. The system also takes into account the context of the organisation, the expectations of interested parties and the applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Quality and environmental policy
Las Terrazas de Abama Suites reaffirms its commitment to excellence and sustainability, guaranteeing accommodation services that satisfy its guests with the minimum possible environmental impact. The management promotes continuous improvement, strict compliance with current regulations and the involvement of the entire team in achieving the objectives of quality and respect for the environment. Its principles include pollution prevention, transparency with stakeholders and periodic review of the management system, ensuring its effectiveness and constant updating.
EL PRIMER VIAJE
Las Terrazas de Abama Suites has joined El Primer Viaje, an initiative for the protection of the Cory's shearwater (Calonectris diomedea borealis) and other seabirds in the Canary Islands. Every autumn, thousands of chicks descend, disoriented by coastal lighting, and are exposed to danger. The hotel participates by implementing measures to reduce exterior lighting, activate rescue protocols and raise awareness among employees and guests about this reality. This commitment reinforces our contribution to sustainable development goals, particularly the protection of terrestrial and marine ecosystems, moving towards a more conscious and responsible model of tourism.
